STEP 5 – ALTERNATING PALM SLIDE

broken image

Stand on one side of the recipient while continuing to touch at all times. Next, you’ll create a movement over the recipient’s back called the ALTERNATING PALM SLIDE, our second application.

This movement will be from the spine to the sides. Start with your fingertips on the spine and lower your palm as you move your hand away from you using light pressure. The SLIDE ends when your palm starts to go over the edge of their side.
Starting with your RIGHT hand, slide it away from your body. Do the same with your LEFT hand. Continue alternating hands until you work from the waistline, up the back, over the shoulders, over the neck, and onto the head until about the ears.
Think of the ALTERNATING PALM SLIDE like mowing a lawn, where you overlap the strokes slightly as you move up the body.
Repeat this step for a total of three times. Move to the recipient's other side until you complete three times on that side too.
QUESTION – WHY DO YOU THINK IT IS IMPORTANT TO STAY CONNECTED TO THE RECIPIENT AT ALL TIMES?
